Registrations for the 2025/26 season opened on 1 August 2025 and there is no better time to register for Little Athletics.
Pitt Park is undergoing some generational changes to the ground which ensure we have the best athletics field in the Blue Mountains. Drainage work will be finished in September, and a new Clubhouse will start construction in 2026.
Katoomba Athletics is affiliated with both Little Athletics NSW and Athletics NSW (NSW Athletics). This allows us to provide a full athletics experience irrespective of your needs or skill. We provide a full participation model for athletes aged 3 years old to Masters where competition is held at Pitt Park each week. Ages 8 - 17 have Zone, Region and State Championship pathways along with Little Athletics Combined events as an opt in extra activities. The focus is family, fitness and fun across all events.
Our Athletics NSW affiliation provides the opportunity for athletes who wish to complete at higher levels of competition beyond Little Athletics in ages 14-Masters, or to pursue competition as athletes older than 17 years of age. These athletes can compete at Pitt Park on Saturdays alongside our Little Athletes but also participate in specific events held across Sydney (e.g. milers meets etc) or NSW (e.g. NSW Country Championships) during the season.
A season registration fee plus event entry fees apply. Your registration at Katoomba Athletics provides:
- 12 months membership to Little Athletics (Tots to u17s) or Athletics NSW (Dual athletes and seniors)
- A fun and inclusive family environment
- A 21-week summer competition season on Saturday mornings at Pitt Park
- Club coaching
- Access to the Little Athletics Zone Combined and Scamper events for Little Athletes. Separate entry fees apply.
- Access to a full range of state events run by Little Athletics NSW for Little Athletes. Separate fees apply.

Our first competition day for the season will be mid-September, and we'll be running through until March 2026 (with a short break over Christmas). Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates.
* Athletes qualify through to Region and State championships based on their performance at Zone and Region Championships respectively.
Major improvement works have commenced as part of the Pitt Park Lower Oval Recovery Drainage Project which will significantly enhance the oval’s resilience and usability year-round, supporting athletics, school sport, and broader community use.
What’s included in the upgrade?
• Engineered drainage and new irrigation systems
• Oval contouring and laser levelling
• Complete reseeding of the grass surface
• Expansion to an 8-lane track to support regional and state competitions
Timeline: The oval is currently closed, with completion expected by September 2025. In the event of weather-related delays, the Council will work with us to secure an alternate competition venue to ensure the 2025–26 season proceeds.
Note for dog walkers: Please use the South Lawson Off-Leash area or refer to Council’s website for 14 other available off-leash spaces during this time.
This project is co-funded by: NSW Government’s Essential Community Sport Assets Program (ECSAP) and NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Grant (WSIG).
We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to a vastly improved Pitt Park.
